(God of Life) is the god of life and spirits (holy ones, not the cursed ones Lord Deakul commands) - Lord Voidtex

Character Progression: When a Character is created, nothing is determined but name, gender, and avatar. Very early on in the game the player has the option to pray at the altar of (God of life), Lord Deakul, Lord Cyberus, or Lord Galaxus. Later in the game, the player will be able to pray at other shrines, like Lord Voidtex's shine, or the shrine of the mad god (Zack I think). These choices are reversible. As a character levels, their combat stats increase. At any time, the player can go to any shrine they have access to and change their godly allegiance. This will only reset their skill tree. They will keep their skill points and level. I think being able to completely change your character is healthy for a game because it doesn't force certain types of characters to play certain roles. So, if halfway through the game, you decide you hate purple and want to switch from void magic, or dislike the amounr of magic available to followers of Lord Cyberus and want to change to magic, you can do so without having to make an entirely new character. Also, this is just a tentative idea. Please leave suggestions/objections in the next line. - Lord Voidtex

Also on character progression: each god could have sub-classes with different focuses. These sub-classes can be changed fairly easily by the player. For example, I was thinking void would have three sub-classes, with different focuses: a void mage (combat spells), a void priest (heals people, and summons the void for help [not Lord Voidtex, but the void itself. It is somewhat sentient]), and a third sub-class, either void knight or something akin to a theoretical physicist. Oooooh or someone who specializes in use of talismans. - Lord Voidtex

Combat System:

Sub-Classes:

Void:

Void mage: Practices primaraily combat related spells

Void Priest: Specializes in healing spells. Has a couple of immensely powerful abilities unlocked very late that call upon the void (not Lord Voidtex, but the void itself. It is somehwat sentient.)

-Lord Voidtex

(God of Life):

Tribal Shaman: Heals people and summons holy spirits

Tribal Beastmaster: Has animals that fight for him

Tribal Berserker: Fights purely physically. Perhaps has some sort of juggernaut/berserk form that is extremely powerful

(maybe more of a tank rather than a true fighter, or even have two branches in that skill tree) - Lord Kairos

When changing a players skill tree it costs a certain amount of money. This currency is not the main currency, but the other currency specific to each planet. The more times you change your skill tree the more expensive changing your skill tree will be. You can only change your skill tree in shrines, so it prevents from changing on the go. -Lord Cyberous (side note: this is to provide a bit a variety to the character you've chosen. I'll go a bit more into this later, maybe a diagram, just note you'll be able to change your playstyle a bit as you keep playing. - Lord Kairos)

I feel if you can change your sub classes it kind of kills the idea of choices. Just my opinion.
